This
trek involves 3 to 4 hours of hiking with many rest stops. It
is especially directed at those who
enjoy geology, botany, ornithology
or anyone wishing to combine exploration of virgin wilderness
with the loss of a few calories. This
is an ‘intermediate’ level trek. That means terrain is
generally slightly to moderately
sloping, but a substantial portion involves
walking over slippery boulders, and there is one steep uphill
section over difficult terrain – about 20 minutes of challenging
walking for the average person. Except during summer
months, conditions are often muddy. Any reasonably healthy
person with good shoes (trainers or better – no sandals
please!) and a sense of adventure
can complete this trek. A
rather ethnic yet very memorable lunch is included along with
drinking water throughout the day.
Live long and trek….
Note:
Full-day Treks include a fantastic post-hike lunch, which
tends to be on the late side.
Half-day Treks take place in the afternoon
only and do not include lunch.
Warning:
This trek should be avoided by those with heart/respiratory
conditions, problems of balance, fear of heights and/or
a low tolerance for pain and physical hardship.
Special
interests: Bird-watching, botany, geology,
unbulldozed
landscape, goat manure, clean air,
photography.
